Navigating Your Nervous System for Managers is a neuroscience-informed workshop that helps leaders understand the role of the autonomic nervous system in how we experience workplace behavior and stress. Drawing on Polyvagal Theory, this session offers practical tools for recognizing signs of dysregulation, supporting nervous system regulation, and fostering psychologically safe, high-performing teams.

Kaitlin’s Bio

Kaitlin Carmichael is a leadership and professional development expert with over 16 years of experience creating and facilitating courses to help employees and managers of all levels unlock their full potential, without losing their sanity. Kaitlin has worked with professionals in universities, government, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and technology companies.

For the last decade, Kaitlin has increasingly focused on coaching and developing leaders, with a bold mission: to rid the world of bad bosses. By emphasizing self-reflection and awareness, accountability, emotional intelligence, and nervous system regulation, Kaitlin helps managers become the kind of leaders others want to follow, while building healthier workplaces and increasing employee engagement in the process. Kaitlin is a single mom to a 7-year-old boy with autism. She is a strong advocate for the inclusion and empowerment of people with neurodivergence and different abilities. Kaitlin’s favorite hobbies are riding her e-bike and traveling around the country for John Mayer or Taylor Swift concerts.

The Power of Recess for Leaders

When we were kids, some of our favorite times happened on the playground at recess. We explored how to play, create and socialize. At Seven Movements, John Sinclair has been the pioneer of “Micro-Dosing Movement,” think of it like Recess for Adults- small doses of purposeful exercise and building habits or “streaks”.  

These movement streaks are the foundation for all health and performance behaviors. The most potent universal remedy for disease, cognitive performance decline, and managing chronic illness and pain, is through movement. John will show you how and why the power of daily movement snacks will improve company culture, drive growth and productivity and restore mental health. 

John’s Bio

John is a renowned expert in programming movement as medicine, with extensive experience in coaching, athletic training, and medical exercise specialization. His unique insights into health and performance programming stem from his diverse roles as an educator, coach, and applied functional scientist. John has developed innovative strategies for long-term athlete development in college and professional sports and has consulted professional sports teams and governments globally.

He served as Health and Performance consultant for the California State Guard and created program solutions for renowned brands like ViPR Pro, Zumba, Equinox, Nike, and 24HR Fitness. Notably, he designed the first Wellness Experience aboard the Ritz Carlton Yacht Collection. As a sought-after subject matter expert, John lectures internationally and directs programming at The Institute of Motion. He also shares his expertise through the IoM Personal Training Mentorships and the Applied Health and Human Performance Specialist Certification programs.
